We are living in the computer age. computer are dominating every walks of human life and computer are being used as powerful tools in almost every field of human activity. the ease with which computer can process data,store and retrieve it painlessly has made them inevitable in all organization. Now a days, the computers have come up in such a big way that their presence is felt in every sphere of life like education,medicine, research,...etc
The first thing we want to study in computer is what is computer?
Computer can e defined as high speed electronic data processing machine that accepts and store input data, process it by doing some kind of manipulations and produces the desired result under the direction of a detailed step by step stored set of installations.
Computer performs only three basic function,
1 Arithmetic Calculation
2 Compare Values
3 store,search and retrieve.
It should be very clearly understood that although computer essentially does all the above functions automatically, it does not posses any intelligence of it own. It intelligence Quotient(IQ) is zero that is it does not have any thinking, arguing or decision taking power of its own.The power is intelligently conferred to it by proper programming methods by person handling it.
